Artemus

Artemus is a beautiful Bengal cat who was born to a breeder in 2009.  He spent the first two years of his life in a cage with the breeder.  A person finally brought him home, but he would not come out from under the bed at home, so he was surrendered to Whiskers.  We found that he seems to be deaf and he has a leg that had been dislocated at some point that causes him to limp sometimes. He's a sweet, shy boy who loves attention from the volunteers and has the softest coat of fur.  Sadly, he was never properly litterbox trained and he sprays when he becomes agitated, so he will not be up for adoption.  However, he is happy and safe at the shelter where he no longer has to live in a cage.  He will live out his life at the Whiskers shelter and will have all of his needs met and will receive lots of love and attention from the volunteers.  Please consider sponsoring this beautiful boy so Whiskers can continue our committment to the no-kill rescue philosophy.
UPDATE AUGUST 2019 - Aretmus had many health issues and fought a brave fight, but he passed away from cancer.  During one of his final trips to the vet, the kind volunteer who was driving him stopped in Washington Park in Albany and let Artemus smell the fresh air and watch the birds and squirrels from the safety of his carrier.  He enjoyed his life at Whiskers up until the very end.  He was loved and will be missed dearly by our volunteers.
